Christmas 2012

Christmas 2012 has come and gone. It is now mid January 2013. We had another memorable Christmas that was more than anyone of us deserves. The kids were overjoyed with their presents from Santa which included a tennis net for Noah, gymnastics bars for CC, and a new kitchen for Maggie.
Our Christmas celebrations began with a trip to Centerville to spend a weekend with Craig's family. We returned on Christmas Eve in time to attend Christmas Eve Mass at St. Joe's like we do every year with my mom and dad.  We headed to their house just in time to receive a visit from the Jolly Ole Man himself! The kids are always so excited to see Santa and get their first gift of Christmas. Christmas morning, CC and Maggie woke up with red, crusty eyes. We had just spent the previous two weeks in and out of Jasper Pediatrics. Maggie had the croup, CC had an ear inflection and sinus infection, and Noah had a throat infection and ear infection. They all ran fevers and CC and Noah were on antibiotics. So, imagine my surprise on Christmas morning when I discovered both girls had what seemed to be PINK EYE! WHAT??? PINK EYE? The one infection that had not reared its ugly head at our house! Despite what looked like pink eye, we did enjoy a wonderful Christmas morning and breakfast. At precisely 9:30am Craig called in to Jasper Pediatrics once again. Thinking we would get an answering machine, we were shocked to find a human voice on the other end. She asked if we wanted to bring in the girls.  Did we want to bring in the girls? Heck yeah!
At 10:00 Craig took the girls in to visit yet again with Dr. Bies, who was on call. They came home with a new round of antibiotics and new ear infections. No pink eye. The ear infection had caused their eyes to become a gloppy, gluey mess.  Aside from all the sickness, it was nice to actually have a lazy day with all the Christmas chaos. We played games, assembled new toys, and enjoyed each other's company without any pressures or stresses from the day. It was the best Christmas present any of us received this year.

Look at these beauties ready for Christmas Eve Mass.... (maggie was still sleeping!)
