Maggie is our miracle. At our 20 week ultrasound we were given heartbreaking news that something was worng with her right kidney. The best case scenerio was that she had a bad right kidney, and her left one would be functioning for both sides. That was the BEST case scenerio. From that appointment, we went to see another doctor in Evansville for more tests and a higher tech ultrasound. I am not even going to write about what they told us there, it takes me back to a time of depression and bleakness that noone deserves to go through. As the days turned into weeks, and weeks into months, the number of doctors appointments and ultrasounds were many. In early January we met with a doctor in Indy. He was the first to tell us that our baby may have one questionable kidney, but her other is just fine. She is going to be an active, healthy baby. From that point on, I let God take over.
Maggie, who is now 18 months old, is perfect. At 2 weeks, we had an ultrasound done which showed 2 normal kidneys. She is truly a miracle, a gift from God. Prayers are answered, as ours were the day Maggie was born. Happy 18 months, Maggie! You are a constant reminder that prayers are answered, and miracles exist. We love you!
